I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I first posted about the Realm Guardians. I know I had a lot of people looking forward to them, and I have let them down. The only thing that I can say is that life has gotten in the way, and I am so very new at being an author. Although, can I really call myself that when I have yet to hit that oh so important Publish button?

I won’t bore you with details about my life, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to hear them anyway. I will tell you that not only do I have the first Guardian’s novella outlined, but I have the next 3 outlined as well. I hope to have them out soon, but we shall see.

I will have a book out next month! I have so many story lines, characters, worlds, and ideas running around in my head. They only keep pilling up. Just in the last two months two more completely unrelated story ideas have popped into my head. They have both demanded their own time, and that time is now.

Normally when I sit down to write out a story, I work up a brief idea, then a very brief outline, then a more detailed outline, then I start fleshing out chapters, then I finally get the rough draft done. After that it’s a lot of going back over it all and working out things that just don’t quite fit or need a little bit of rewording.

These two new story ideas though, they have been oh so different from how I normally write. My only choice for them was to sit down at my laptop and start typing. One of the stories has stormed to the front and demanded it get written down RIGHT NOW. The other has kindly taken a back seat, but it’s also demanding it’s own time before I even pick up Guardian’s Grace again.

The really good news is that I should have the first Stand Alone Novella rough drafted and done by the end of the week. I already have a cover for it too! After working it over a couple of times and sending it off to an editor, I should be able to hit Publish on One Lion Night in Mid-September.

Night’s Alpha should be out a month later, maybe two. Then hopefully before Christmas I can bring Guardian’s Grace out into the world for it’s long overdue debut.

Hang in there with me, and I hope you won’t be disappointed.

Realm Guardians Offical Teaser

edit3

The Realm Guardians are Coming.

Are you ready to be Claimed?

To give yourself to them?

Say hello to the first official teaser for the Realm Guardians!

I really can’t say how happy I am to be writing again. I’ve spent the better part of today reworking my blog, and I’m kind of at a crossroads with it. The older posts don’t really apply anymore, too much has changed in the last two years. I was debating keeping them, but then again, I am doing a fresh start. In light of that fresh start, I’m going to delete all of the older posts (all whopping 10 of them), and move the final draft of the prologue of Dreams in the Night to that book’s blog page. You can now find that excerpt HERE.

I ordered some bookmarks that should be here in the next couple of weeks, and once that happens, I will start doing a few giveaways and participating in some fun stuff. In the mean time, I need a few people for my street team! Don’t expect anything great to start off with, please try and remember that I am starting from ground zero and am working on the rough drafts for the first Realm Guardians stories. Street team members will get to see sneak peeks, and once I get edited versions, they will receive ARC’s.

For now, enjoy the teaser, and feel free to ask any questions, and please please please spread the word. We poor indie authors need all of the help we can get, especially when we are just starting out!

Here’s To A Fresh Start!!!

Well, what can I say? It’s been a really long year. I’ve had a lot happen and needless to say, my writing has taken a very deep back step. I won’t go into any details, but I am happy to say that I am ready to get back to my writing.

Just because I took a break, it doesn’t mean that I haven’t had ideas or haven’t written down anything. I have taken a break from my original novel. When I first started, I was under contract with an Indie Publishing House. Since then, that pub house has gone the way of the dodo bird. I still have all of the rights to Dreams, and I will eventually be finishing, retouching, and publishing that novel.

For now though, I have an idea that is just screaming at me to be written!! This world and it’s stories just will NOT leave me alone!!

These stories will be unique. They are short novellas, around 20k – 25k words, and are kind of like serial novellas. Now, as a reader, cliffhanger serials bug the ever loving daylights out of me! I promise you that the Guardian shorts are not like that. Each short is part of an overall story arch that will focus on one couple and tell a small part of that arch. Just because a novella features one couple, doesn’t mean that you will never see them again. Each couple will be featured at least twice, if not more. For right now I only have on arch in mind, but I already have three separate novellas planned, with many more just waiting for their turn on the back burner.

I’m currently working on the second novella in the series, with the first one planned after that, and then the third. I know, I’m working on them out of order, but that’s the way the characters are demanding to be written.

I will be self publishing, so once I get the first (chronological) novella written up, edited, a cover done, and all that good stuff, I will be hitting that amazingly awesome publish button on Amazon!

I’m excited about self publishing. I get to retain complete control over my works while making sure that my readers enjoy them. I’m also a tad bit scared, because I have basically zero fan base right now and am starting from scratch. So, if you are reading this, please spread the word and help a fledgling indie author out!
